Mom Arrested After Her Father Finds Newborn’s Remains Under Porch

A 23-year-old Pennsylvania woman stands accused of killing her newborn baby after the woman’s father found the baby’s dead body outside in a garbage bag as he was hanging up Christmas lights, according to multiple reports.

According to the Allentown Morning Call, Brittany Robinson’s father discovered the dead infant while decorating his house for the holidays.

The newborn’s body was allegedly placed in a garbage bag in a crawlspace beneath a porch at the back of the Shenango home, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Robinson allegedly told investigators she was unaware she was pregnant until after giving birth to the baby in her bathtub on Friday, reports the Post-Gazette.

After delivering the full-term, 7-pound baby, Robinson allegedly said she could not detect a pulse and found no evidence of a heartbeat. She placed the body in a dresser drawer, and checked on it the next morning, according to the outlet.

It was then when she allegedly moved the baby to the crawl space, according to KDKA.

Multiple reports claim nobody who was living in the same residence as Robinson knew she was pregnant.

But KDKA reports that cops have evidence that allegedly shows “Brittany did know she was pregnant prior to giving birth.”

Robinson is charged with criminal homicide, concealing the death of a child, abuse of corpse and tampering with evidence. It was unclear Monday if she had entered a plea to the charges.

Court records also do not indicate if she has retained legal counsel.

She is being held at the Lawrence County Jail without bail.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday to determine the newborn’s cause and manner of death.
