What shocking news.
As we reported earlier, Mark Salling took his own life on Tuesday morning. It’s said the Glee alum was founded deceased outside in the northeast San Fernando Valley. He was 35 years old at the time of his passing.
Salling’s attorney, Michael J. Proctor, has since confirmed the tragic news as he released a statement on Mark’s death. He noted to the press:
“I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning. Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment. He is survived by his mother and father, and his brother. The Salling family appreciates the support they have been receiving and asks for their privacy to be respected.”
In case you forgot, Mark was slated to be sentenced in early March as he previously pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor. Unsurprisingly, reactions from Salling’s peers have already begun to trickle in on Twitter (below).

Today we lost another #Glee cast member.Yes, he committed crimes against children.Yes, it’s horrific. But #MarkSalling was a broken man, no doubt an abuse victim himself. I loved Mark, and am sad when I consider the devastation of his parents. PLEASE withhold your cruel comments.

Jane Lynch weighed in on the news by retweeting the message (directly above).
Mark may’ve been a troubled human, but our thoughts are with his loved ones during this time.
